POLICIES
Senior Pets
Senior dogs require some extra care during grooming because they can easily become stressed.I go much slower with older dogs and I am very gentle with them. As dogs get older, a lot of them acquire some health issues along the way. If your dog's health has recently changed, please make me aware. There are certain conditions that can make grooming a risky situation. If your senior dog is showing significant signs of stress, I will stop the groom.
Matting
I believe in Humanity Over Vanity. This means that if your dog has matting to the skin I will shave the matting. If your dog is excessively matted, this will require an additional fee of $10-50, depending on the severity. This is because matting can be difficult/dangerous to remove and it is hard on our equipment. To avoid matting I recommend brushing and combing through multiple times a week. If you would like to maintain your dogs hair but cannot keep up on brushing, I recommend grooming every 2-4 weeks.
Fleas
If I find fleas on your dog they will automatically get a flea bath which is an additional $5-20 depending on the severity of the infestation. It is due to additional clean up and sanitizing I have to to do to try to minimize the chances of me transmitting fleas to other clients. Flea baths will only kill what is currently on the dog and are not a solution to the problem. They will only provide your dog temporary relief. To avoid getting fleas, I recommend using a monthly flea preventative such as K-9 Advantix, or a flea preventative prescribed by a vet.
Cancellation and no show policy
If you need to reschedule your appointment, 24-hour notice is preferred. If you cancel more than once with less than 24-hour notice you will receive a fee of 50% of your normal appointment cost that must be paid before grooming can resume. If you are not home when I arrive, I wait fifteen minutes and try to contact you. If you no show, this also incurs a travel and lost income fee of $50% of your normal appointment cost that must be paid before resuming regular service.
Vaccination Policy
You must have proof of vaccination for grooming (This includes nail trims and anal glands.) Puppies need two sets of puppy shots and dogs six months and older need the rabies vaccination.

Rabies is required by law in the state of Michigan.

Aggressive Dogs
A lot of dogs can show aggression out of fear or sensitivity during the grooming process. I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve for getting dogs to calm down for certain things. If needed, i will muzzle your dog for safety. If I still am not able to complete the groom safely, I will stop and return your dog to you. Some dogs do well with calming medication from the vet, and other dogs are still a danger and need to be sedated for a groom at the vets office.

Photos may be taken of your dog during the groom for promotional purposes, and to document how cute they look!
